My name is Johan Louw and I've been exploring the mountains all my life. When I was young I often used to go barefoot, off-trail and up steep cliff faces without any rope, sleeping upon pillars of rock under the stars with nothing but baboons for miles. In my latter years I still passionately explore the mountains but have perfected the art of safe adventures. I decided to get my Adventure License and share my passion with others.
I have been living in Cape Town for 22 years and have explored most of the beautiful mountains in the area. I've done most of the hiking routes, scrambles and rockclimbing routes. I can guide you on pretty much any hike you wish to do in the Cape Town area but I have selected a few of my favourite hikes to list on my website. I am friendly, flexible and willing to taylor-make an adventure that will be perfect for you and your friends / family. As an option I can provide snacks, and we can stop at a coffee shop / restaurant of your choice after the hike.

Platteklip Gorge is the oldest, most direct, and popular hiking route to the top of Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa. It is a steep, well-maintained, and non-technical trail featuring extensive stone steps through a massive ravine, popular for its dramatic, direct ascent to the top plateau. As an option we can return via the cable car.
